Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania.

Aslan Bzhania warmly congratulated Vladimir Putin on winning the presidential election and stressed that the voting results strongly demonstrate that the public highly supports the Russian leadership’s course for accelerated socioeconomic development, security and strengthening the country’s position in the world.

The presidents noted their readiness to continue strengthening the alliance between the two states in the interests of the Russian and Abkhazian peoples.
