The US President expressed his solidarity with Russia’s large-scale efforts of fire fighting and disaster relief, and his condolences following massive wildfires which caused loss of life and serious damage.
Barack Obama confirmed the United States’ readiness to provide necessary equipment to put out fires and render expert assistance.
The President of Russia thanked his counterpart for compassion and sympathy in relation to the tragic aftermath of the natural disaster in Russia, for prompt response and readiness to help in fire suppression.
Both sides appreciated the contacts established between the two nations’ corresponding ministries and agencies.
Other topics addressed during the conversation included prospects for cooperating on the sidelines of multilateral international forums to be attended by both presidents.
