Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Members of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
Following expiration of the term of office of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation appointed in March 2011 and pursuant to Article 21 of the Federal Law No. 67-FZ of June 12, 2002, On Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights and the Right of Citizens of the Russian Federation to Take Part in Referendums, the President resolved to appoint Alexander Kinev, Vasily Likhachev, Ella Pamfilova, Yevgeny Shevchenko and Boris Ebzeyev members of the Central Election Commission.
The Central Election Commission is formed for 5 years and has 15 members, 5 of whom are approved by the State Duma, 5 – by the Federation Council, and 5 – by the President. The term of office of the current Central Election Commission expires on March 27.
