Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to residents of the Republic of Adygea on the twentieth anniversary of the republic’s foundation.
The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“This event had great significance for the region’s development as part of the unified Russian state. Over these years, the republic has made great strides in social and economic development and in protecting the cultural and historical heritage of Adygea’s ancient lands. The Republic of Adygea is famous for the unique ecosystems of the Caucasus State Nature Biosphere Reserve, the only one of its kind in Russia, and included on the UNESCO World Heritage list.
Adygea is distinguished by its ethnic and religious diversity. Peace and understanding between the members of different faiths and ethnic groups is vitally important for guaranteeing the region’s stability.
The biggest priorities today are to make the region’s businesses more competitive, establish a good investment climate, and improve mechanisms for cooperation with other Russia’s regions.
I am sure that this will help you to put the republic’s resources to best use in order to carry out big social projects and raise people’s living standards.”
