While on a working trip to Altai Republic, Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with the region’s Acting Head Alexander Berdnikov.
The region’s socioeconomic situation was the main subject of discussion.
Mr Berdnikov briefed the President on the disaster relief effort following the floods that affected one in every seven people in the republic.
Mr Berdnikov also spoke about construction of new schools and hospitals and the implementation of two big projects: connecting the region to the gas network and building a new airport. The airport’s opening will bring more tourists into the region. This year, 1.5 million tourists have already visited Altai Republic.
