Dmitry Medvedev received proposals on the candidacies for the post of the President of Bashkortostan.
Chairman of United Russia's Supreme Council and State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov submitted the list of party candidates which included Federation Council member and Chairman of the Bashkortostan legislature Rudik Iskuzhin, head of the Ufa administration Pavel Kachkayev, Acting President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov, and Chairman of the republic’s National Bank Rustem Mardanov.
Also taking part in the meeting were State Duma Deputy Chairman, deputy head of United Russia’s faction in the State Duma and Secretary of United Russia’s General Council Presidium Vyacheslav Volodin, deputy head of United Russia’s faction in the State Duma and Chairman of United Russia’s Central Executive Committee Andrei Vorobyev, and Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Naryshkin.
On July 15, 2010 Dmitry Medvedev accepted voluntary resignation of President of Bashkortostan Murtaza Rakhimov.
