Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On Awarding Special Senior Ranks to the Russian Federation Interior Ministry Officers and Appointments of the Russian Federation Interior Ministry Officers.
In accordance with the Federal Law On the Police Force, the President awarded the special rank of police lieutenant general to militia lieutenant general Ruslan Alkhanov, and militia lieutenant general Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
President Medvedev appointed police lieutenant general Ruslan Alkhanov to the post of interior minister of the Chechen Republic, and police lieutenant general Vladimir Kolokoltsev to the post of head of the Main Department of the Interior for Moscow.
