May 23, 2016, The Kremlin, Moscow

Mr Yevkurov briefed Vladimir Putin on the region’s socioeconomic situation.

Mr Yevkurov noted, in particular, that gross regional product increased by around 9 percent in 2015. The forecast is for a 15–16 percent growth in 2016.

With the support of a federal targeted programme, unemployment decreased by four percentage points in 2015, and with five new production facilities opening in the republic, it is expected to drop by about eight percentage points. The agricultural sector has posted growth, road construction continues, and work has been carried out on the federal mountain road. A total of 21 new and rebuilt schools will open this year.

Work continues on a social development programme for Ingushetia, which covers cultural, education, healthcare and sports facilities.
