Vladimir Putin will visit Ivanovo on May 26, where he will hold a meeting of the Presidential Council for Local Government Development.
The meeting will discuss implementation of the latest laws on local government.
Proposals for improving the current local government system were drafted in accordance with instructions the President issued in December 2013, following his Annual Address to the Federal Assembly.
The draft law was written with input from the National Council on Local Government and the National Congress of Municipalities. The law has been passed and approved by the State Duma and Federation Council.
