The President instructed Regional Development Minister Viktor Basargin in cooperation with Krasnodar Territory authorities to estimate the damages caused by the natural disaster and to draft assistance measures to overcome its consequences in the shortest time possible.
In a telephone conversation earlier today, Krasnodar Region Governor Alexander Tkachev briefed the President on the evacuation of people from the flood zone and accommodation and assistance to those affected by flooding.
Following torrential rain in the Krasnodar Territory, seven localities with a total population of 1,400 people have been flooded.
A flood wave, caused by strong rains in the mountainous areas of the Tuapse District, has raised the water level in the Pshenakha and Tuapsinka rivers.
