Vladimir Putin arrived in Khabarovsk to welcome in the New Year together with flood victims in the Far East.
The President visited one of the temporary shelters for the flood victims. He spoke to those who are still unable to return to their homes and invited them to a New Year reception at the municipal recreation centre.
On his way to Khabarovsk, Vladimir Putin stopped by in Chita, where he met with the widow and three children of serviceman under contract Bair Banzaraktsayev who died during flood relief operations, and invited them to the reception as well. The Banzaraktsayevs arrived in the region’s capital city together with the President on his aircraft.
At a New Year reception attended by residents of the Far East, Vladimir Putin recorded the New Year’s Address to the Nation.
