Dmitry Medvedev congratulated past and present oil industry workers in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District-Yugra on producing the district’s ten-billionth ton of oil.
The President said, in particular, in his telegram:
“This record result is the achievement of several generations of oil workers in the region, who have made a big contribution to the Russian oil industry’s effective development.
The region produces more than half of all of Russia’s oil today, and the businesses based there successfully combine use of the latest technology and the best in world practice, as well as paying great attention to carrying out environmental programmes.”
