Vladimir Putin instructed Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov to fly immediately to the Vorkutinskaya coal mine, following the explosion there, to take the emergency response measures and oversee the rescue operations.
The President expressed his profound condolences to the victims’ families.
A methane explosion went off this morning at the Vorkutinskaya coal mine. According to preliminary results, more then 10 miners were killed and several more are still missing.
