Greetings to participants and guests at the concert “Leningrad. 900 Days in the Name of Life”

January 31, 2014

Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to participants and guests at a charity concert marking the 70th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade.

The President said, in particular, in his message:

“The feats of Leningrad’s people and the city’s defenders will remain forever in our country’s history and serve as an example of exceptional courage, moral strength, and deep and sincere love for the Motherland.

Outstanding cultural figures – musicians, composers, poets – wrote a particular, unforgettable page in this historic chronicle. Their inspired works lit hope in people’s hearts and helped them withstand and overcome the trials that came their way. The works they created are a hymn to unconquered Leningrad and a unique spiritual contribution to the overall great victory.”
