The Acting Governor briefed the President on the socioeconomic situation in the Magadan Region, particularly on the development of its special economic zone and the payment of salaries to public sector employees.
According to Mr Pecheny, eight tonnes of gold and nearly four hundred tonnes of silver were extracted in the first six months of 2013. A new mine is being completed as are preparations for mining a new deposit, while the necessary electric transmission lines are being put in place.
