Energy supply and ways to improve energy efficiency in the region were the main subjects discussed.
Dmitry Medvedev called energy supply a top priority task to ensure the region’s further progress. The President also stressed the importance of raising energy efficiency, noting that resolving this problem will result in benefits for the region’s many towns and would improve the social situation in general, bring down tariffs, and help to achieve the goals before the regional authorities today.
President Medvedev said that these issues could be best tackled by combining state mechanisms with input from the region and corporate resources.
