Visiting a new school in Ob city

As part of his working trip to the Novosibirsk Region, Vladimir Putin visited the newly built secondary school No. 2 in the city of Ob.

The school was built in 18 months and will welcome 825 students, head of school Marina Vashchenko told the President. It has a medical unit with a doctor’s office, a medical treatment room and a dental room. The school also has a class equipped with sewing machines, a woodworking and a metalworking classes, a library and specialised classes for various subjects.

The school’s sport section includes a class for rhythmic gymnastics and choreography, a 560 square metre swimming pool, physical therapy and fitness rooms, and a 550 square metre gym for playing various sport games.

The Novosibirsk Region is set to open four new or renovated schools this September; and five new schools and one kindergarten will be added before the year is out, Acting Governor Andrei Travnikov told the President.

In 2019, six new schools will open in the Novosibirsk Region, and the construction of two more is currently being considered. In addition, 14 kindergartens are to open in the region next year.

After visiting the school, Vladimir Putin met with local residents who had gathered near the building.
