The Governor of Primorye Territory briefed the President on the main indicators in the region’s social and economic development.
The discussion focussed on economic growth rates, major investment projects, the development of the Far East Federal University, which trains personnel for the space launch centre currently under construction in the area, as well as for the space industry in general, and on various spheres of the petrochemical and energy industries prominent in the area.
In the course of the meeting, Mr Miklushevsky requested that the President relieve him of his duties as Governor ahead of term to make it possible for him to take part in the gubernatorial elections scheduled for September 2014.
