Mr Miklushevsky briefed Vladimir Putin on the socioeconomic situation in the region and discussed with the President programmes underway in the healthcare sector, housing construction, sports, and the situation in the fisheries industry.
In particular, the Governor spoke about the opening of a new perinatal centre and plans to build another such centre in the north of the region.
Development of mass, children’s and student sport was also discussed.
Mr Miklushevsky noted that the Government has decided to develop a fisheries industry hub that will establish local shore-based fish processing facilities, but the financing decisions for these projects have not been made yet. The Governor said that building the special wharves and acquiring the needed refrigeration equipment would require the state’s participation. Mr Putin said that the matter of developing fisheries industry facilities in the region should be discussed with the Government and the relevant ministries.
