Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Particularities of Legal Regulation of Relations in the Education Sector following the Entry of the Republic of Crimea into the Russian Federation and the Creation of New Constituent Entities – the Republic of Crimea and the City of Federal Importance Sevastopol, and on Amendments to the Federal Law On Education in the Russian Federation.
The Federal Law sets out provisions for integrating Crimea and Sevastopol’s education system into the Russian Federation’s system.
In particular, the law sets out the rules on correspondence and recognition of education, degrees and titles obtained in Ukraine, teachers’ and academics’ positions, and students’ rights concerning education, qualifications, degrees and titles, in accordance with Russian law. The law brings the work of educational establishments in Crimea and Sevastopol into line with Russian law.
