Amendments to laws following the adoption of a law establishing a free economic zone in Crimea and Sevastopol

Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation following the Adoption of the Federal Law On Development of the Crimean Federal District and the Free Economic Zone on the Territory of the Republic of Crimea and the City of Federal Importance Sevastopol.

The Federal Law makes amendments to the Russian Federation Merchant Shipping Code, the federal laws On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation, On Protecting the Rights of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs in the Process of State and Municipal Control (Supervision), and laws governing pension and medical insurance.

In particular, the Federal Law expands the list of ships registered in the Russian International Register of Ships, defines procedures for employing foreign citizens, and sets lower insurance payments for businesses operating in the free economic zone in Crimea and Sevastopol.
