Vladimir Putin signed Federal Law On Special Aspects of Legal Regulation of Relations Pertaining to Social Security (Support) and Compulsory Social Security Payments to Certain Categories of Citizens Residing on the Territories of the Republic of Crimea and the City of Federal Importance Sevastopol.
Pursuant to Article 11 of the Federal Constitutional Law On the Accession of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation and the Creation of New Constituent Entities Within the Russian Federation – the Republic of Crimea and the Federal City of Sevastopol, as of January 1, 2015, the legislation of the Russian Federation regarding social security will apply to the territories of the Crimean Republic and the city of Sevastopol.
The amounts of compensations and other payments as well as guarantees set in monetary form should by January 1, 2015, be brought into compliance with such social payments and guarantees as contemplated by legislation of the Russian Federation.
