Instructions following a meeting with the public of Crimea and Sevastopol

The President approved a list of instructions following a meeting with representatives of the public of the Republic of Crimea and the city of federal importance Sevastopol, which took place on March 18, 2019 in connection with the 5th anniversary of the Republic of Crimea becoming part of the Russian Federation.

The Presidential Executive Office and the Government were instructed to submit proposals to support the Russian Schoolchildren Movement and to create and expand its regional resource centres.

The Government was instructed to consider amending legislation to protect the interests of domestic producers of wine products made from grapes grown and processed in Russia within certain geographical areas, and also to take measures to ensure support for viticulture and producers of wine products made from grapes grown in Russia (including the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol).

In addition, the Government was instructed to ensure, by the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, the reconstruction, restoration and outfitting with modern technical equipment of the Sapun Mountain memorial complex and the May 7, 1944 Storming of Sapun Mountain diorama which are owned by the State Museum of the Heroic Defence and Liberation of Sevastopol.

The Government was also instructed to submit proposals on creating an international archaeological research centre at the Tauric Chersonese (Khersones Tavrichesky) State Historical and Archeological Museum-Reserve.

Instructions to the Government and the Defence Ministry concern, in particular, the reconstruction, for educational and scientific purposes, of the historical brig Mercury which was built in Sevastopol in 1819.

In conjunction with relevant organisations, the Government was instructed to come up with proposals regarding the development of yacht tourism in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.

The Foreign Ministry, with the participation of relevant religious organisations, was instructed to consider the format of a possible visit to Russia of the President of the Republic of Turkey to attend the opening of the Cathedral Mosque in Simferopol.

The Ministry of Culture was instructed to provide financial support for hosting the St Vladimir Film Festival in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol starting in 2019 and beyond.
