Vladimir Putin visited the Mariinsky Theatre, where he attended a rehearsal of the combined children’s choir of Russia.
The choir, whose members were selected through a contest among children from all over Russia, will perform at the closing ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. After that, the choir will take part in various cultural projects, festivals, international events and celebrations of national holidays and memorable events.
The combined children’s choir, made up of 1,000 children, was created on the initiative of the National Choir Society.
The Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Theatre, Chairman of the National Choir Society Valery Gergiev told Vladimir Putin about the rehearsals and the choir’s travel plans.
