On the day of Anatoly Sobchak’s 15th death anniversary (1937–2000), the President visited St Petersburg to lay flowers at the monument to the city’s first mayor.
Also taking part in the ceremony were St Petersburg State University students – holders of Anatoly Sobchak Public Foundation scholarships.
The monument is situated in the square adjacent to the building that houses the Faculty of Law of St Petersburg State University where Anatoly Sobchak was Head of the Department of Economic Law.
