The discussion covered ongoing work and future prospects of the university.
Andrei Rudskoi outlined his vision of how higher education institutions and the Russian Academy of Sciences should work with industry in order to achieve a concrete synergy between science, education and production.
Mr Rudskoi noted that the university he leads has extensive experience in this area. A number of specific industrial projects have been completed over the past five years, and real-world technological issues have been resolved. A consortium was established with major companies, such as Rostec, UAC, USC, Rosatom and the Kurchatov Institute.
Separately, Mr Rudskoi discussed the university’s cooperation with Kamaz, with which it has signed an agreement to develop technology for a universal platform for advanced means of public transport, such as buses, electric buses and trolleybuses.
In addition, Mr Rudskoi told the President about cooperation between St Petersburg Polytechnic University and the new St Petersburg administration.
Vladimir Putin extended his greetings to Andrei Rudskoi on the coming anniversary of the university, which was founded on February 19, 1899.
