Vladimir Putin paid tribute to the memory of the first mayor of St Petersburg Anatoly Sobchak by laying flowers at the monument on Vasilyevsky Island in St Petersburg. The monument, erected in 2006, is located in a park outside the Law Department of St Petersburg State University, where Anatoly Sobchak studied and taught.
