Dmitry Medvedev took part in celebrating the Tatar holiday Sabantui, which traditionally marks the end of the spring sowing work, with celebrations taking place in towns and villages throughout Tatarstan. The President congratulated everyone on the holiday, which he said is one of the country’s most vivid national festivals.
Mr Medvedev also attended the national student rowing championship at Kazan’s Rowing Centre which is one of the facilities built for the World University Summer Games in 2013, and will be the venue for the academic rowing, canoeing, and kayaking events.
The President concluded his trip to Kazan by visiting the Sotvoreniye Mira [Creating the World] rock festival.
