January 29, 2016, Kazan

Presidential Aide Igor Levitin held a meeting of the working group on monitoring implementation of State Council and State Council Presidium decisions.

The meeting examined implementation of presidential instructions aimed at improving the national road network as part of the comprehensive regional development programme.

Taking part in the meeting were Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Duma deputies and federal executive officials. Plenipotentiary presidential envoys to the federal districts and regional heads took part via videoconference.

The meeting noted that of 27 items on the list of instructions that have reached completion deadline, only four have been completed, and 11 have had their deadlines extended.

In their preparations for the meeting, the working group analysed information on work done to make legislative changes that will make the road sector more effective.

The working group examined information from State Duma deputy and head of the Interregional Public Movement for Transport System Development Alexander Vasilyev.

The participants also discussed additional measures taken by the federal and regional executive authorities to improve the road network in accordance with the presidential instructions.
