Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Celebrating the 800th Anniversary of the Foundation of the City of Rzhev in Tver Region.
The President approved the suggestion of the Government of the Russian Federation on celebrating the 800th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Rzhev (Tver Region) in 2016.
Regional and local authorities were instructed to take part in preparing and conducting this event.
In 2007, a Presidential Executive Order granted Rzhev the honourary title of City of Military Glory of the Russian Federation for bravery, tenacity, and large-scale valour demonstrated by the city’s defenders in the battle for Russia’s freedom and independence during the Great Patriotic War.
