The Tver Region Governor briefed the President on the region’s socioeconomic situation.
Mr Rudenya informed the President about efforts to develop Tver Region, the implementation of the May 2012 Executive Orders related to teachers’ and medical workers’ salaries, and other social matters. The discussion also covered youth policy, the development of the agricultural complex and preparations for the winter heating season. Speaking about housing and utilities and water supply, Mr Rudenya said that in some cases private companies operating in this segment had failed to make the necessary investments in upgrading equipment and utilities, while shifting profits overseas. These cases had been referred to law enforcement agencies, he said, and people involved in activities of this kind had been contacted. The President instructed the Governor to report on progress in this work.
