Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On Early Termination of the Mandate of the Volgograd Region Governor, releasing Sergei Bozhenov from his duties as Governor, and appointed Mr Bocharov to be Acting Governor.
The President agreed to Mr Bozhenov’s request to step down from his post ahead of term and accepted his resignation.
Mr Bocharov has been appointed Acting Governor of the region until an elected governor takes office.
