Working meeting with Governor of Jewish Autonomous Region Alexander Vinnikov

July 25, 2014, The Kremlin, Moscow

Mr Vinnikov briefed Vladimir Putin on the socioeconomic situation in the region and discussed the measures the region has taken to provide housing for people who lost their homes in the floods in 2013.

Mr Vinnikov said that results for the first half of 2014 showed that the region’s industrial production index had reached 118 percent. The biggest growth was in mining and refinement. The active construction underway in the region also contributed to growth.

Regarding implementation of the May 2012 presidential executive orders, labour productivity increased by 18 percent over the first half of the year. In 2013, the region achieved its ‘roadmap’ target for wage growth in the education sector, and has already reached its 2018 target for wage growth in the healthcare sector.

The region’s top priority at the moment is to provide new housing for those who lost their homes in the serious flooding in 2013. New homes to replace those declared unfit for habitation before January 1, 2014, will be completed by September 1.

A repeat evaluation was carried out in early June to determine the number of additional houses that need to be built. They will be completed by September 30.

Mr Putin promised while visiting Jewish Autonomous Region to keep this work under his personal control.
