A regular meeting of the Commission for Coordination of Work of the Federal Executive Authorities and Other State Agencies in Fulfilling the Russian Federation’s International Agreements on Fighting Corruption has been held at the Presidential Executive Office.
The meeting was attended by the heads of several federal bodies of executive authority, the higher judiciary, the Accounts Chamber and the Presidential Executive Office.
The discussion centred on the preparations for the third round evaluation of the Russian Federation by the Group of States against Corruption (GRECO). This round will focus on the implementation of certain provisions of the Council of Europe Criminal Law Convention on Corruption of January 27, 1999.
The Commission reviewed the information from the Justice Ministry about the prospects of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the European Union in anti-corruption activities. The Commission decided to hold an expert meeting, on the results of which proposals will be drafted for joint anti-corruption programmes with European Union.
The Commission also heard reports from the Foreign Ministry and the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring on the draft of revised Recommendation No 6 by the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF), which provides for the establishment of special monitoring over financial accounts of prominent domestic and international politicians.
After due deliberation, the Commission issued targeted tasks aimed at the implementation of the decisions adopted.
