Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Naryshkin visited Tajikistan.
In a meeting between Sergei Naryshkin, Russian Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, a discussion was held on preparations for the visit by President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev to Dushanbe in September 2011.
Sergei Naryshkin announced that a set of documents is being prepared for signing during the visit, including a programme of economic cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan for 2011–2014.
Following the talks, respective agencies in Russia and Tajikistan were given instructions pertaining to the 201st Russian Military Base’s status and its continued presence in Tajikistan.
During the conversation, the politicians also exchanged views on preparations for a summit marking the 20th anniversary of the CIS.
