During his working visit, Sergei Ivanov met with Prime Minister of Ukraine Nikolai Azarov and Chief of Staff of Ukraine’s Presidential Executive Office Sergei Levochkin.
At their meeting, the chiefs of staff of presidential executive offices of Russia and Ukraine discussed issues pertaining to preparing and holding a meeting of the Russian-Ukrainian Interstate Commission, scheduled for July 12, in Yalta.
Sergei Ivanov noted that recent Russian-Ukrainian contacts had become significantly more active, as evidenced in particular by the previous week’s meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for economic cooperation, with participation by Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev.
