The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office opened the XVI World Russian People’s Council, Frontiers of History, Frontiers of Russia.
In his speech at the meeting of the World Russian People’s Council, Sergei Ivanov stated that the authorities will use the full power of law to protect all citizens’ religious sentiments. According to Mr Ivanov, all the key political forces have corresponding positions on this matter.
The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office stated that the Russian Orthodox Church has unique experience in cooperating with the government, allowing for the successful resolution of social and educational challenges, maintaining stability and interethnic harmony within the society, and counteracting extremist attitudes, xenophobia and religious intolerance.
Mr Ivanov called on everyone to “remember your history” and stressed the need to eliminate myths and opportunistic assessments from Russian history.
The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office also read Vladimir Putin’s greetings to Council participants.
