Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov took part in the 25th joint meeting of the supervisory, guardianship and public councils for the publication of the Orthodox Encyclopedia, held at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
The Orthodox Encyclopedia, whose 30 out of the 60 planned volumes have already been published, is an invaluable study aid for high school and university students, Sergei Ivanov said in his speech.
The encyclopedia contains an extensive and systematic body of knowledge from all areas of church life. It gives its readers an opportunity to see the world through the prism of the Orthodox world, while at the same time comparing it with the latest developments in the humanities and natural sciences. This comprehensive approach makes the publication an indispensible source of knowledge in the broadest sense. The Chief of Staff said this reference material is available for a wide range of readers, and the work on the encyclopedia must continue.
