Sergei Ivanov visited Armenia

Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov visited Yerevan for the inauguration of President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who was elected for a second five-year term in February.

Following the presidential inauguration ceremony, Sergei Ivanov had a meeting with Serzh Sargsyan.

Earlier in the day, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office visited the Tsitsernakaberd memorial complex to the Armenian Genocide victims in Yerevan. Sergei Ivanov honoured the memory of the victims of the 1915 events in Ottoman Turkey and laid a wreath at the memorial.

The previous day, Mr Ivanov participated in the opening ceremony for a Russian language education centre in Armenia. Sergei Ivanov gave a high assessment to the initiative to create a network of similar centres, stressing that the work of such institutions will be in demand among a wide range of people of all generations. The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office presented a Walks through the Kremlin photo album to the Russian language centre.
