Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov took part in the unveiling of the monument to Patriarch Hermogenes in Alexander Garden.
In his speech, Mr Ivanov stressed that the unveiling of the monument to Patriarch Hermogenes in Alexander Garden was a landmark event for Russia. The Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office underscored the Patriarch’s special role in uniting the Russian people during the Time of Troubles.
Sergei Ivanov read aloud the message from the President of Russia to the ceremony participants.
The ceremony was also attended by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia and Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem.
