Igor Levitin held a meeting on developing aircraft manufacturing

September 11, 2015, Irkutsk

Presidential Aide and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin held a meeting on developing aircraft manufacturing as part of preparations for an upcoming State Council Presidium meeting on import replacement in industry.

Taking part in the meeting were Acting Governor of Irkutsk Region Sergei Yeroshchenko, CEO of Rostec State Corporation Sergei Chemezov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Andrei Boginsky, and representatives of Russian aircraft manufacturers and research institutes.

Under the Government-approved plan for facilitating import replacement in industry, the average import content share in consumption in various industrial sectors is to come down from 51 percent to 39 percent by 2020. Import replacement targets will be met without resorting to additional budget spending, but will be supported through existing state programmes.

The meeting’s participants discussed the main areas of work in Russia’s aircraft manufacturing sector today, and examined the existing problems.

An analysis of the main trends in the sector and measures for its long-term development will be examined at an upcoming State Council Presidium meeting on import replacement in industry.
