Aide to the President, State Council Secretary Igor Levitin chaired the third meeting of the State Council working group on road safety in the Russian Federation.
The head of the working group, Vladimir Region Governor Svetlana Orlova reported on the work to draft the final report.
The meeting analysed the assessment of road safety in the Russian Federation.
The working group report includes the results of a nationwide study of road safety, designed to consolidate the efforts of the authorities, experts and the public to ensure safety on the roads.
Reports were made at the working group meeting by head of the Interior Ministry’s Main Directorate for road safety, head of the editorial board of the Group Viktor Nilov and members of the State Council working group.
Taking part in the meeting were Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov, Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, Sakhalin Region Governor Oleg Kozhemyako, Deputy Interior Minister Dmitri Mironov, members of the Federation Council and the State Duma, and representatives of federal and regional executive bodies of power, national public organisations and the expert community.
Meeting participants made amendments to and comments on the final draft of the report, which are to be taken into account during its finalisation and preparations for the upcoming State Council Presidium meeting.
