Sergei Ivanov held a regular meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Countering Corruption.
In addition to the members of the Council Presidium, the meeting was attended by President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Katyrin, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Oleg Fomichev and other invited persons.
Prosecutor General Yury Chaika informed the Presidium about the measures adopted under the National Plan to Counter Corruption for 2014–2015 to prevent and curtail kickbacks received for the fulfilment of state or municipal orders. As a result of measures taken in 2015, the prosecution agencies revealed and curbed about 132,000 violations of the law on federal and municipal procurement of goods, works and services, including almost 55,000 corruption cases, and initiated criminal proceedings in a number of cases.
The Council Presidium instructed the relevant agencies to continue implementing the afore-mentioned measures, concentrating on vital social spheres: healthcare, education, and housing and utilities.
During the discussion, the participants identified the main areas of anti-corruption activities in business companies as well as in regional and municipal enterprises. They paid special attention to forming a system for the efficient prevention of corruption offenses, removing factors that are conducive to abuse, and organising productive cooperation between government and business in this area.
The relevant decisions were adopted on the results of the meeting.
