Meeting of the working group on monitoring the implementation of the decisions of the State Council and its Presidium on fulfilling the Presidential instructions on developing tourism in Russia

November 24, 2016, Sochi

In Sochi, Presidential Aide Igor Levitin chaired a meeting of the working group on monitoring the implementation of decisions of the State Council and its Presidium on fulfilling the Presidential instructions related to developing tourism in Russia.

Speaking at the meeting of the working group were Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratyev, Director of the Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov, Director of the Ministry of Culture’s Department of Tourism and Regional Policy Olga Yarilova, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Strelbitsky and other representatives of the tourist industry.

During the meeting the participants reviewed progress made on introducing amendments to the law that would develop domestic and inbound tourism as well as river and sea cruises, improve the quality of hotel services, promote Russian tourist products and create comfortable conditions for tourists.

It was noted that only six out of 23 instructions that were scheduled to be completed by now have been fulfilled due to delays in interdepartmental approvals among federal executive bodies.

It was recommended at the meeting that the schedule for approvals be followed to ensure that the Presidential instructions that remain on the checklist are carried out, without exception.
