Meeting of the State Council consultative commission

Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin chaired a meeting of the State Council consultative commission on modern regional industrial policy’s role in increasing Russian regions’ competitiveness and investment attractiveness. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The working group, which was headed by Governor of the Tyumen Region and member of the State Council consultative commission Vladimir Yakushev, examined the question of finding new approaches to developing regions’ industrial policies, raising labour productivity through technological modernisation, establishing technological skills development centres, organising interregional cooperation, and developing interregional investment niches.

The commission concluded that it would be good to hold a State Council meeting devoted to this subject.

Taking part in the meeting were the governors of Tula, Novgorod, and Tomsk regions, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, Minister for North Caucasus Affairs Lev Kuznetsov, President of National Public Organisation Delovaya Rossiya (Business Russia) Alexei Repik, General Director of the Agency for Technological Development Maxim Shereykin, and representatives of federal and regional executive bodies.
