International IT Forum with BRICS and SCO countries’ participation

Presidential Adviser German Klimenko attended the 9th International IT Forum with the participation of BRICS and SCO countries. Other forum participants included Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Urals Federal District Igor Kholmanskikh, Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area (Yugra) Natalya Komarova and delegates from 44 Russian regions and 46 countries.

The main issues on the forum agenda included import substitution in information technology, cybersecurity, electronic governments and digital economy.

German Klimenko reported, in part, on the transition to Russian-made software in the  Central Federal District and the dangers facing local governments that use foreign software.

Participants in the 9th International IT Forum with the participation of  BRICS and  SCO countries visited an exhibition titled Information Technologies for All, where they were told about the use of analytical systems, for example, for electronic fire hazard monitoring, and also about cybersecurity systems. Other exhibits included the best practices in finance, tourism, education, healthcare, information systems and computer literacy.

During a tour of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area, Presidential Adviser German Klimenko held a meeting on information security in the  Urals Federal District, which focused on import substitution in this sphere. He also attended a video conference held by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Central Federal District Alexander Beglov with the heads of the regions.
