In Yessentuki, Stavropol Territory, Presidential Aide Igor Levitin chaired a meeting of the working group to monitor the implementation of the State Council decisions on fulfilling the Presidential instructions on enhancing the investment appeal of Russia’s health resort sector.
Speaking at the meeting of the working group were Minister for North Caucasus Affairs Lev Kuznetsov, Governor of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Vladimirov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea Larisa Opanasyuk, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism Nikolai Korolev, and President of the National Resort Association Alexander Razumov.
The meeting participants reviewed efforts to improve the laws and regulations regarding the resort industry, including amendments designed to attract private investment and encourage the use of public-private partnerships. Measures to preserve and develop health and recreational facilities were also discussed.
The participants noted that three of the 13 instructions with expired deadlines had been implemented. The other instructions were not fulfilled due to the fact that federal executive bodies had spent too much time coordinating regulations at the inter-agency level.
During the working trip to the Stavropol Territory, the working group members visited a number of health resorts.
