Presidential Adviser German Klimenko spoke at a press conference on the future of digital medicine in Russia.
The Third Opinion project is a unique disease diagnosis system, which involves using digital medical imaging to identify pathologies. The project’s goal is to give doctors and patients a chance to get recommendations quickly, on the basis of data obtained by modern equipment.
The application can be used on computer or smartphone. It works via a neural network taught to recognise pathologies in medical images. The beta version of the project’s first stage has been launched: the analyser of pathological blood cells and recognition of eye fundus pathologies. In the future, the project will include such areas as lung x-ray examination, mammography, CT and mobile ultrasound scanning. The Institute for the Development of the Internet has already begun professional image mapping.
It was announced at the press conference that the project will raise investment through an ICO, making it possible to scale up and engage the international software development community. The importance of involving the international coalition of medical doctors in cooperation was also stressed.
