The First International Medical Investment Forum was held on October 6, hosted by the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. Government and business cooperation in healthcare was discussed at the event held at the directive of the Federation Council’s Commission on Social Policy.
The Presidential Adviser spoke at the opening of the IMIF discussion platform. Speaking about the state of Russian healthcare, German Klimenko noted that the sector is highly conservative and emphasised the prospects of introducing IT in healthcare. He reported, in particular, on the development of telemedicine to ensure quality and accessibility of medical aid.
The rate at which new technologies are making their way into healthcare is limited by internal factors; however, this process is inevitable, the Presidential Adviser stressed.
He also touched on the issue of improving the investment appeal of healthcare. According to Mr Klimenko, the necessary legislative conditions have already been created for that.
