Meeting on progress in the implementation of presidential instructions for comprehensive development of the Russian Far East

March 6, 2018, Vladivostok

Presidential Aide and Secretary of the State Council Igor Levitin chaired a meeting of the working group to monitor compliance with the decisions of the State Council and its Presidium on the implementation of presidential instructions for comprehensive development of the Russian Far East regions.

Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev spoke at the working group’s meeting.

The meeting participants analysed information on progress in amending the legislation to create an environment that would encourage investors to come to the region, to simplify the procedure for hiring foreign nationals, to provide land plots to the participants of the state programme to assist the voluntary resettlement of compatriots to Russia, to improve transport infrastructure in the federal district, and to implement measures to build new border checkpoints in the Far Eastern Federal District.

It was noted that of the 15 items on the list of instructions, the deadlines for which have expired, not a single instruction has been taken off the list as completed. The reasons for non-fulfilment include delays in the interdepartmental coordination of regulatory acts by the federal executive bodies.

Following the meeting, it was recommended to take exhaustive measures to ensure unconditional implementation of the items on the list of presidential instructions within the time limits set.
